Section 16e of Book II of the Social Code (SGB II) – Integration of long-term benefit recipients
Supports employers in recruiting people who have been receiving benefits for a long time.
• Objective: sustainable integration into employment subject to social security contributions.
• Eligibility criteria include, amongst other things: having received benefits for at least 21 months within the last 24 months, as well as approval from the Jobcentre.
• Wage subsidy: 75 % in the first year, 50 % in the second year.
• In addition: ongoing coaching and advice throughout the funding period.
• No legal entitlement – the decision is made by the relevant jobcentre.

Section 16i of Book II of the Social Code (SGB II) – Participation in the labour market
This support is aimed at people who have been receiving benefits for particularly long periods and have had little employment, provided that the statutory requirements are met.
• Objective: social inclusion and long-term integration into the labour market.
• Wage subsidy for up to 5 years:
– Years 1–2: 100 %
– Year 3: 90 %
– Year 4: 80 %
– Year 5: 70 %
• Supportive coaching for employees and employers.
• Further training and qualifications may also be funded.
• The decision on whether to grant support is taken by the relevant Jobcentre in accordance with the relevant legislation
