One-off benefits
Irrespective of the standard requirements, one-off benefits can be applied for in the following cases:
- Initial equipment for clothing, including for pregnancy and birth
- Initial furnishing of the flat including household appliances
- Purchase and repair of medical devices and equipment as well as the hire of therapeutic equipment
Scope of the service
Die Richtlinie “einmalige Bedarfe” legt die Pauschalen für die Erstausstattungen und Anschaffung sowie Reparatur von medizinischen Geräten fest. Diese können in Geld- oder Sachleistungen erbracht werden.
Entitled to benefits
In addition to those entitled to benefits under the Second Book of the German Social Code (SGB II), you are also entitled to benefits if you do not require benefits to secure your livelihood, including accommodation and heating.
In this case, however, a complete new application with all the necessary attachments and evidence is required (see procedure for the initial application). A basic requirement is that you cannot cover the need for one-off benefits with your income.
Application
Please submit your written application for the one-off benefits informal with a detailed explanation of the need for the benefit to the Leipzig Job Centre. Depending on the type of benefit applied for, the following documents are required:
- Maternity passport
- Rental agreement and
- Proof of income (of all members of the community of need).
The Leipzig Job Centre will make a decision on a case-by-case basis after receiving all the documents required for processing and a thorough examination. You will receive a corresponding decision.
