Video counselling

Advice via video

The Leipzig Job Centre is now offering a new, additional means of communication in addition to face-to-face or telephone consultations. Customers can talk to a member of staff via video communication from home.

Your advantage: You can discuss your concerns from the comfort of your own home, for example - via the webcam on your computer, tablet or smartphone. This makes communication with your job centre easier and more personal, even during the pandemic.

All topics can be discussed via video communication, e.g. questions about cover letters or benefit entitlements can be clarified, placement suggestions can be discussed or application documents can be viewed together. Advice on further training opportunities and other support programmes can also be part of a video appointment.

In 2021, the Leipzig job centre successfully tested video communication as part of a pilot project and gained positive experience. Around 160 job centres across Germany are already using video communication.

Participation in video counselling is voluntary; video appointments are an additional service. Personal counselling sessions on site or telephone consultations will continue to take place.

How does it work?

Video communication takes place via a browser- and device-independent web app in a digital consultation room. No software or app needs to be installed.

All you need is a smartphone, tablet or internet-enabled computer with a camera and microphone. You will receive an invitation link by e-mail. It only takes three clicks and the video call can start at the agreed time: open the link in the email, agree to the terms of use and enter the consultation room.
