The equality of women and men in the labour market, the promotion of women and the reconciliation of family and working life are enshrined as overarching tasks in Section 18e of the Second Book of the German Social Code (SGB II) and are the declared will of the legislator and the Leipzig Job Centre.
The tasks of the Equal Opportunities Officer on the labour market include advising and supporting the joint institution on issues relating to gender equality in basic benefits for jobseekers, the advancement of women and the compatibility of family and career for both genders. At the same time, the Equal Opportunities Officer supports and advises those entitled to benefits and those living with them in a benefit community.
She initiates and supports projects that counteract inequality and serve to improve the compatibility of family and career for both genders, as well as initiating projects for women and parents/single parents. She is particularly concerned with improving the placement and integration opportunities of women, parents and single parents. To this end, it engages in intensive networking with local partners and answers any questions you may have on these topics:
- Equality of women and men in the labour market (advancement of women)
- for returning to work after a family phase (bringing up children or caring for relatives)
- Compatibility of career and family
- Part-time training
- Parental leave and childcare
If you need advice or support on issues relating to gender equality in the labour market or if you are looking to return to work after a family phase, you are welcome to contact the Equal Opportunities Officer at the Leipzig Job Centre.
