The following housing benefit calculator from the Federal Ministry of Housing, Urban Development and Building can be used to roughly check whether your needs and income situation could lead to a claim for social benefits and, if so, whether you should apply for housing benefit (Housing Benefit Office of the City of Leipzig) or citizen's allowance (Leipzig Job Centre). When using it, please note that the city of Leipzig is assigned to rent level II.
