Recognition of foreign professional and educational qualifications

If you have a foreign degree or have learned a profession in your home country, you can have your qualifications recognised or assessed in Germany. In this way, the equivalence of the foreign professional qualification with the German qualification can be established. In many professions, this is a prerequisite for working in this profession or becoming self-employed. This applies in particular to regulated professions such as healthcare and nursing, educators or doctors. Recognition improves the opportunities for people with foreign qualifications to work in Germany in the profession they have learned and thus enables better integration into the labour market.

The Leipzig Job Centre is available to you at any time as a contact for the recognition of your qualifications and the translation and certification of your certificates as part of the recognition procedure. Under certain conditions, we or other organisations will cover the costs.

If you require in-depth advice on the recognition of your foreign educational qualifications and suitable training in the Leipzig region, you can contact the Immigration Information Centre (FiZu).
All information on the Immigration Information Centre; IBAS- Information and Advice Centre Labour Market Saxony can be found at www.anerkennung-sachsen.de
